Recall Campaign for Driver Side Airbag Inflator of Takata NADI on Mitsubishi Pajero and Lancer 1996 - 2000 MY

In coordination with the Competition & Consumer Protection Department of the Ministry of Economy, Al Habtoor Motors announces a Recall Campaign for a limited number of Mitsubishi Pajero and Lancer vehicles with the below details which will be effective immediately.

United Arab Emirates, Dubai, 19.09.21 Al Habtoor Motors Co. LLC, the official distributor of Mitsubishi vehicles in the UAE, announces a recall campaign for a number of 1996-2000 Model Year Mitsubishi Pajero and Lancer manufactured in Japan.

In the affected vehicles, the NADI (Non-Azide Driver Intlators) type airbag intlator installed in the above vehicles may result in improper performance that could be different than as designed.

A population of NADI (Non-Azide Driver lnflators) manufactured between May 1995 and August 1999 have been identified as potentially having improper inflator sealing which may cause moisture to enter the propellant and if the propellant has a chance to dry out, it could lead to decrease in density, resulting in high burn rate.

It is expected that this recall campaign include (2,149) vehicles in the United Arab Emirates.

In the interest of delivering the highest standards of Mitsubishi quality and customer care, Al Habtoor Motors Co LLC begin contacting the affected customers to inform them about this recall and request them to bring in their vehicles for repairs.

The recall action to replace the airbag inflator on affected vehicles will be done free of charge.

Every effort will be made to minimize any inconvenience caused during the short time required for the work to be carried out.
