Al Habtoor Motors Co. LLC, the official distributor of Mitsubishi vehicles in the UAE, announces a safety recall campaign for a number of 2016 Model Year Mitsubishi Outlander vehicles manufactured in Japan.

In the affected vehicles, the lock mechanism in the door latch may not operate properly when the temperature becomes high due to insufficient precision of the part. As a result, the door may not be locked securely and, in the worst case, the door may open while driving, on the following batch of vehicles.

The precision of the door latch component parts has been strictly controlled and the mold for component parts has been modified as from December 2016.

It is expected that this safety recall campaign will include (1,407) vehicles in the United Arab Emirates.

In the interest of delivering the highest standards of Mitsubishi quality and customer care, Al Habtoor Motors Co. LLC will begin contacting the affected customers to inform them about this recall and request them to bring in their vehicles for repairs.

The recall action to replace the door latches on the affected vehicles will be done free of charge.

Every effort will be made to minimize any inconvenience caused during the short time required for the work to be carried out.
