Mitsubishi Fuso to sponsor Urawa Reds soccer team

Tokyo, February 1 2004 - Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corporation announced today that it is to be a uniform sponsor of the Urawa Red Diamonds (popularly known as the "Urawa Reds") football (soccer) team for the 2004 J-League season (February 1 2004 through January 31 2005).

Mitsubishi Fuso decided to enter the sponsorship arrangement for the 2004 season because the Urawa Reds reflect many of its own corporate ideals in their team organization and play. Particularly relevant to the decision were the following:

1.	The positive contribution made by the Urawa Reds to the development of football in Japan from its formative years and since the formation of the Japan Soccer League ; the many titles it has won and the many players it has produced who have represented their country.
2.	The club's professional approach in putting its customers (supporters) first and in nurturing close ties with the local community since the inauguration of the Japan Professional Football League ("J-League") in 1993.
3.	The club's fighting spirit as seen in the way the whole team and its supporters dedicate themselves towards victory.

The sponsorship arrangement will serve to increase public awareness about and to enhance the image of Mitsubishi Fuso which became an independent company in January 2003 after separating from Mitsubishi Motors Corporation.
For Mitsubishi Fuso, the sponsorship will visibly increase corporate exposure in the form of the "

" above the player's number on the back of the team shirt and its logo on stadium signs, on the Aurora Vision large screen, on posters and handbills when the team plays at home (at the Urawa Komaba Stadium or the Saitama Stadium 2002).
And through its sponsorship Mitsubishi Fuso will be supporting the Urawa Reds in their campaign to add to the Nabisco Cup it won last year and capture its first league championship title this season.
