Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corporation has added a wireless model to the Fuso Total Support System (FTSS) series that contributes to improvements in real-time vehicle and shipment tracking and in operational efficiencies as well as to reduced operating expenses. The full-feature model comprises Logistics, Cargo Quality and Vehicle management components. The new wireless version of the basic model uses wireless thermal sensors to collect and transmit temperature data inside trucks fitted with chilled or refrigerated bodies. The new model will go on sale at Mitsubishi Fuso sales companies throughout Japan on 9 October. FTSS was developed by Mitsubishi Automotive Engineering (head office in Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture). The full-feature FTSS-H model, which gathers data on all aspects of shipment tracking, cargo quality and vehicle management, was launched in 1999. The basic FTSS-P model, which limits collection of data to shipment tracking and freight quality control, went on sale in July 2003. The new FTSS-P (R) announced today is a wireless version of the basic model. The FTSS series lineup now comprises three models, giving the customer a better choice to suit his requirements. The FTSS series will be on display at the Mitsubishi Automotive Engineering Stand at the 2003 Tokyo Truck Show being held from 15 through 17 October at the Tokyo Big Site. Demonstrations will enable visitors to see and experience individual features of the series. |
