Al Habtoor Motors and JBM Electric Vehicles forge strategic partnership to drive e-mobility in the UAE
DUBAI, UAE – September 16, 2025 – In a major move to accelerate sustainable mobility, Al Habtoor Motors and India’s JBM Electric Vehicles announced a landmark partnership today to introduce next-generation electric buses to the UAE market.
The agreement designates Al Habtoor Motors as the exclusive importer and distributor for JBM’s electric buses in the UAE. The collaboration is a direct response to the UAE’s Net Zero by 2050 Strategic Initiative and aims to modernize public transport by reducing emissions, lowering operating costs, and enhancing passenger comfort.
JBM, one of the world’s largest electric bus manufacturers, brings proven technology to the partnership. Its vehicles have already clocked over 200 million kilometres globally, saving 350 million liters of diesel and one billion kgs of CO2. The company has pledged its buses will cover 3 billion kilometers worldwide within three years.
The partners aim to make an enormous environmental impact over the next decade. “We aim to reduce CO2 emissions by over 2.8 billion kgs, save over 1 billion litres of diesel, and serve over 1.6 billion passengers,” said Nishant Arya, Vice Chairman & MD of JBM Auto.
The e-buses, built to withstand the region’s harsh climate, will be offered for urban city routes, staff and school transportation, and as intercity coaches. The partnership will provide a complete turnkey solution, including the vehicles, charging infrastructure, and leasing services.
